What NIMSA is about?

Muslims are enjoined to conduct their affairs through dialog, negotiation, consultation and consensus. These meanings are all embodied in the word Shura. Allah described the believers as those “who (conduct) their affairs by mutual Consultation” Q42/38.The Muslim Ummah is today facing tremendous challenges that call for a unified stand which is only possible through consultations, contributions and elective representation.

The mosque was the first staring point of building a strong Ummah and is still central to the affairs of the Muslims. With this divinely given platform, Muslims can now unite to know each other from the mosques level, and also elect their representatives. And with the modern system of fast communication, mosques should be interconnected to booster our cooperation, consultation and elect leaders directly or through the representatives. Every step of the assembly will be through the principle of Shura. No one person or group can impose its whims on the rest of the Ummah except through consensus.

Nigerian Muslim Shurah Assembly (NIMSA) is an assembly of all Nigerian Muslims of different extractions and inclinations. It is not a political or sectarian or ethnic and tribal assembly. Islam stands above these trivialities.
